Our
Surf Lessons. We are a mobile Surf School.
Before every lesson we load up our Surf Bus with the equipment
needed for the day and head to the beach with the best waves. If
you’re stuck for a lift to the beach why not give us a call?
Our Surf Bus can carry eight passengers, so we can always pick
you up from your hotel or apartment on our way to the beach!
Once at the beach we will fit you out with a quality wetsuit and find the best board for your level.
Then the groups are organised according to ability and language
We are very flexible about how you spread out you lessons and how
many lessons you take. Some
people like to try one lesson before they book a course.
Others may do a full week of morning lessons whilst some prefer
to spread them out over a longer period.
Below gives you an idea of what to expect.
If you’re unsure of your level, no worries, we’ll figure it
out during your first surf session.
We
can give lessons in English, Spanish, German or Italian, languages
spoken fluently by one or more of us!
Your
first ever surf lesson!
We’ve
taught hundreds of beginner surf lessons over the years and every single
student we’ve taught has come out of the water with a huge smile on
their face! The
exhilaration of your first wave cannot be compared.
We teach the first lesson in small steps, giving you time to
practice the techniques on the beach before you attempt them in the
water.
Here are the main
practical and theoretical points covered in lesson 1.
Practical
- Warm
up and stretching techniques specific to surfing.
- How
to enter water with board.
- How
to choose which waves to catch.
- Finding
the correct lying position on board and how to keep balance.
- Paddling
technique to catch waves.
- How
to ‘pop-up’ or stand up on the board and ride a wave to the
beach.
Theory
- Basic
ocean knowledge,
- Effects
of swell, wind and tides,
- Safety
awareness and procedures.
- Get
to know surf equipment.
Beginner
courses - Further progression
Every surfer progresses at a different rate, depending on fitness
level, confidence and natural ability.
Also, the surf conditions during the lessons can effect what is
taught. Following on
from the beginner lesson we work with students individually, improving
their surf skills necessary to take them to the next level.
This includes:
Practical:
- Correcting
pop-up mistakes.
- Riding
waves for longer.
- Refinement
of stance.
- Improvement
of position in the water.
Theory:
- Constant
analysis of surfing hazards.
- Detecting
currents rips and sand banks.
- Understanding
different types of waves.
- Effects
of different winds on waves.
Intermediate

Are you ready to go out the back and surf the green waves (the
unbroken part of the wave)? Or
are you already surfing the green waves but need some help with
manoeuvres? Our intermediate
courses will have you tearing apart those smooth faces in no time!
The best time of year to take an intermediate course is from
October to May as this is when our beaches are blessed with bigger
